Information

I created a unique calendar that is interactive and decorative. Calendars often seem clunky, and I thought this was a fun and interactive way to get in the mood for 2026. This calendar allows you to change the days and months easily. It's perfect for desks, kids, home decor and more.

Instruction

1

Step1: Load the file and cut the piece

*Please note, this file has three canvases. If you are missing pieces this is why.

2

Step2: Remove all pieces carefully

Due to the detailed elements, I highly recommend keeping all leftover fragments that fall through the baseplate until you have completed the project. Specifically watch out for the July fireworks pieces, November's turkey, etc.

Step3: Cut the numbers

When cutting the numbers, keep four of the rectangles that are leftover from the top holes. You will use these as your “hooks” for the numbers that hang. There are two number 1s and two 2s.

Step4: Clean all pieces

The white mDF from Home depot is amazing but it gets soot. A magic eraser or wipe rubs the soot right off.

Step5: Paint the elements

As mentioned, feel free to use your own creativity. You can see what I did by looking at the photos. For August, and September I used painter's tape to cover the engraving of the leaves and sun.

Step6: Glue the two bases together

Make sure everything is even and the openings are free of glue or the post won't fit through the hole. Use wood clamps or a book to secure them tightly.

Step7: Glue letter and backings together

Glue the corresponding month letters to the back it belongs to using a wood glue.

Step8: Create the "hooks"

To create the hooks the numbers dangle from, just glue two of the rectangles from the numbers together at the bottoms of the hangers. Again, make sure they are level and straight or the numbers won't hang.
