Information

All the Christmas vibes, none of the pine needles 🌲
This cozy wooden scene glows like it knows a secret, quietly judging louder decorations from across the room.
Laser cut from 3mm basswood, sized at 220 × 60 mm with a total height of about 300 mm, and optionally glowing with a warm LED inside.
Add the light for extra sparkle, or don’t. It’s cute either way ✨

Step 2 – Prepare and Attach the Top Panel

First, insert the small hanger piece into the matching slot on the top panel until it sits flat and secure.

Next, attach the top panel to the frame, making sure it is oriented exactly as shown in the image.
All slots must line up correctly — do not rotate or flip the panel.
Gently press until everything fits snugly.

Step 3 – Assemble the Base

First, attach the small rectangular pieces to the underside of the larger base panel as shown.

Next, place the frame onto the first (smaller) base layer, aligning the frame tabs with the slots.

Finally, attach the second (larger) base layer, connecting it to both the first base layer and the frame.
Take your time here — proper alignment is important to ensure everything sits straight and stable.

Step 4 – Attach the Decorative Top Scene

First, insert the wood/forest piece into the second row of slots on the top panel.
Make sure it sits straight and evenly across the frame.

Next, attach the reindeer piece into the front (first) row of slots, placing it in front of the woods.

Finally, attach the Santa piece into the small slot behind the woods.
Apply glue generously, especially for Santa, to ensure it stays firmly in place.

Allow the glue to set before moving the piece.

Step 5 – Attach the Lantern Holder Rings to the Tree

Take the main tree piece (the full tree shape) and the two identical lantern holder rings.

Carefully attach the rings to the tree using the larger slots on the rings.
These larger slots are only for connecting the rings to the tree — make sure they align perfectly and sit flat.

Important:

Each ring has two types of slots:

Large slots → used now, for attaching the tree

Small slots → used later, for attaching the lantern sides

Do not use the small slots in this step.

Correct ring placement is essential to continue the assembly.

Once both rings are securely attached and aligned, you’re ready for the next step

Step 6 – Assemble the Lantern

Carefully attach the lantern side panels to the small slots on the two rings.
Insert each side panel one by one, making sure they sit straight and evenly spaced.

Complete the entire lantern structure first before attaching any additional tree parts.

Important:

Use only the small slots on the rings in this step

Make sure all lantern sides are fully seated and aligned

Apply glue if needed for extra stability

Once the lantern is complete and secure, you’re ready to continue with the rest of the tree.

Step 7 – Attach the Remaining Tree Parts

Take the half-tree pieces and attach them to the main structure using the remaining open slots around the lantern.

Insert each half-tree piece carefully, making sure it slides fully into place and aligns with the existing tree layers.
Work your way around the tree until all slots are filled.

Once all half-tree parts are attached, the tree and lantern structure is complete.
Check that everything is straight and secure before moving on.

Step 8 – Insert the LED Lights (OPTIONAL but BEAUTIFUL)

Take the small LED light string and gently insert it into the lantern through the specified opening shown in the images.

Carefully guide the LEDs inside the lantern and arrange them evenly so the light spreads nicely.
Keep the wire neat and make sure it does not block or force any wooden parts.

Position the battery box and switch outside the tree, hidden behind or underneath as desired.

Once the lights are in place, turn them on and enjoy the glow
Your tree and lantern are now fully assembled

Step 9 – Hang the Lantern Tree

Attach the lantern tree to the top of the main frame using either small metal rings or a short piece of rope.

Thread the rope (or rings) through the hole at the top of the tree and secure it to the hook or slot on the frame.
Adjust the length so the tree hangs centered and straight inside the frame.

Make sure the knot or rings are tight and the tree hangs freely without touching the sides.

Once secure, your hanging lantern tree is complete.

Step 10 – Secure the LED Battery Box

Glue the LED battery box to the back side of the top decorative panel, placing it so it stays hidden from the front.

Make sure the ON/OFF switch remains easy to reach and the wire is neatly routed without tension.
Hold the battery box in place until the glue sets securely.

Once fixed, the lighting can be turned on and off easily without distracting from the design.

It’s done.
Thanks for building this piece — now turn it on, step back, and let it quietly outshine the rest of your decorations.
