This is a nice and simple standing Christmas tree that I made for my sisiter-in-law, who is a school teacher.
This stands on her desk and we also made minature ones for her class to paint for Christmas.
The other teachers liked it so much, we made more for the other classes.
This is a really simple project - especially if you get your partner to do the painting for you.
1.Cut the MDF (black) parts first. Add as many snowflakes and stars as you would like.
2. Do a trial fitting, but DO NOT GLUE IT AT THIS STAGE
3. Cut the Happy Christmas using solid red acrylic.
4. The baubles and star should be cut in either red or yellow translucent acrylic.
5. Paint the tree, stars and snowflakes in the colours of your choice.
6. When dry, using Super Glue, attach the Happy Christmas, stars and snowflakes. As the wood is painted, it takes a little longer to set, so be patient.
7. When it is all set, assemble the tree, again using Super Glue.
8. Wrap the LED lights around the tree and affix with a hot glue gun, or even a bit of sellotape would work.
9. Tie the baubles and stars to the tree.
10. Glue the cotton wool to the base.
11. Have a nice Christmas.
If you decide to ammend the size, remember to adjust the size of the holes on the tree, stars and baubles.
