Information

The BrewPod was born from a simple problem: how do you keep your OutIn coffee maker supplied when you’re constantly on the go? Using the xTool Studio, I designed a small wooden container that protects beans while adding a touch of handcrafted warmth to any travel setup. Whether you’re heading to work, hitting the trail, or brewing curbside, the BrewPod keeps your favorite roast ready at a moment’s notice.

See step-by-step instructions on my Youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/@KBDesigns-gi9ef

Instruction

Step1: Review and Personalize

First look over the parts in xTool Studio.  You can modify the engravings and text, but please do not resize the parts for the box.  If you do then they may not fit properly.  You can, however, move them around on the canvas to position them on the work piece.

Step2: Process the Lid Parts

Next, switch to the second canvas in the project file.  You can modify the text on the top of the lid. The green score line is to help position the handle.  the second cirlce is the base of the lid, which will add some thickness.

Step3: Assemble the walls and top and bottom Parts.

Next take the top and bottom and begin the glue up.  Be sure to glue the ring indicated in the above picture to the bottom of the top of the box.  This is the stop for the twist lock for the lid.

There are small holes to help align the lock ring.  I am showing this in the second picture above.

Step4: Build the Lid lock ring

Locking ring for the lid is made up to two rings  One ring has tabs that will lock the lid down.  The other ring does not have any tabs.  Begin by glueing these peices together as shown above.

Step5: Attach the lock ring to the lid base.

Next, get the base of the lid,  this is the circle on canvas 2 that doesn't have any engraving on it.  Lay it on your work bench and then take the lock ring from the previous step.  Glue the lock ring onto the base as shown.  Be sure the ring with the tabs is on the uppermost layer.  The ring without tabs will be the middle layer at this point.

Center the ring inside the circle base of the lid.

Place a heavy object on top to apply pressure while the glue dries.  Typical wood glue will take 15 min to set., then you can move on to the next step.

Step6: Add the top to the lid and handle
