Information

      Since OutIn Foldable Coffee Stand is made from anodized aluminium it is perfect for custom engraving.
I decided to fill the top surface with coffee beans in various sizes and it came out really well.
Even though there is a small curve to the surface you can easily treat it as a flat surface.
Any laser machine will work. I used S1 but F1/2 machines will make quick work of this engraving.

Step1: Setup

Insert the stand with the legs folded into your laser engraver. I recommend you protect the inside of the legs and any surfaces you don't want engraved.

I used three magnetic pins to hold it in place and it worked rather well.

The image doesn't show it, but I added some leftover plywood on the inside to protect the inside of the legs.

Step2: Software configuration

Preview

The file features the design and shape of the stand. Use the drawn shape of the stand (green lines) to center the design.

Scale it as required.

Even though there is a small bend to the surface you can treat it as a flat surface. Measure your reference height at the middle of the metal ring not at the inner/outer edge.

Step3: Finishing up

Once the engraving is complete, clean thew surface well. Since the stand is made from aluminium it won't rust, but you should wipe down the stand thoroughly.
