Step1

How to Make Your Own Daily Calendar Puzzle

Materials Needed:

✅ Veneered MDF (recommended, but other materials work too)
✅ xTool laser cutter (such as xTool P2, D1 Pro, etc.)
✅ Masking tape (optional, for cleaner cuts)
✅ Wood glue (if assembling a frame or base)
✅ Sandpaper (for smoothing edges)
✅ Stain, paint, or sealant (optional, for finishing touches)

Download the file

Download the Daily Calendar Puzzle file from Xtool DesignFind
Open it in Xtool Creative Space (XCS)
Adjust the design if needed to fit your material

Prepare the material

Place your veneered MDF (or choose your own materials) into your laser bed
Select the canvas titled Puzzle
Adjust your settings if needed

Start Cutting

Click start to begin cutting the pieces of the puzzle
Monitor the laser as it cuts to ensure smooth operation
Once done carefully remove all the pieces from the laser bed

Creating the Backer

Select the canvas labeled Backers
Adjust settings for the score line, engraving and cut if needed
Place in your second material (I used 3mm white MDF)
Press start and make sure to monitor progress once started

Gluing The frame

Take the backer and the frame of the actual puzzle
Run a small bead of wood glue or super clue around the complete edge of the backer
Place the frame of the puzzle onto the backer carefully making sure to beep the edges flush all the way around.
Leave to dry completely
