Description
What is this
Bead Maker is a bead (fuse beads / heat fusion beads) pattern generator for DIY crafting enthusiasts.
Export Specifications
- PNG Bitmap: 300 or 150 DPI optional; built-in pHYs physical size metadata, imports into typesetting/printing software at 1:1 actual size (5mm per grid, consistent with MARD standard midi bead spacing)
- SVG Vector: mm coordinate system, infinitely scalable without distortion, 1:1 actual size
- Color numbers can be optionally annotated on the pattern; beads can be square or round
- Color data covers MARD (291 colors), COCO (291 colors), Perler (103 colors); color values are derived from the text parsing of each brand’s public color card pages (not image sampling), physical color verification has not yet been done
Feature Highlights
- Dual Algorithm Color Matching: CAM16-UCS (default, perceptually uniform color space) and CIEDE2000 switchable to cater to different image matching preferences
- Three Processing Modes: Smart / Cartoon / Realistic, adjustable color merging threshold, balancing detail preservation and color number control
- Three Bead Brands Switchable (added in v1.4): MARD 291 colors / COCO 291 colors / Perler 103 colors; after switching, rematching and generating with the new brand's color numbers based on the original image; MARD also has two presets for quick switching: 221 color simplified and 291 color full version. Supports searching by color number, bulk canceling by group, isolated preview, and natural linkage with the color number library
- Maintain Original Image Ratio (fixed in v1.5): If the width (grids) is set too large, exceeding the total grid limit, the width will be reduced according to the original image ratio and the actual number of generated grids will be clearly communicated, without vertically squeezing the image
- Three Original Sample Images (added in v1.5): One-click trial when no materials are on hand, immediately see the bead effect
- Color Number Statistics and Procurement List: The actual usage of each color number is clear at a glance; color numbers with too little usage can be replaced in one click with already enabled color numbers
- Cleaning Tool: Color number simplification (low-use color numbers merged into the closest retained color number), fragment cleaning (small areas of isolated color blocks filled with surrounding main colors), aimed at optimizing procurement and visual experience for bead scenes, not a general pixelation tool
- Manual Editor: Brush / Erase / Color Picker / Fill four-piece set (each with its own drawn mouse pointer, current color and color number consistently displayed just above the toolbar), grid lines / coordinates / color numbers with three layers of visualization independently switchable, undo/redo stack covers all editing and regeneration operations
- 3D Preview (added in v1.1): One-click switch between 2D/3D, OrbitControls for free rotation and scaling, “Unfused” / “After Heat Fusion” two presets showing the real difference before and after completing the bead work, camera perspective automatically adjusted based on grid size
- Dual Unit Ruler: Switchable between the number of grids and millimeters (mm), to confirm the actual size of the finished product at any time
- Global Hotkeys (added in v1.2): Tool switching (V Move / B Brush / E Erase / I Color Picker / G Fill), undo/redo (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z), zooming / grid lines / coordinates / color number display, full screen (F), 2D/3D switch (D), open export popup (Ctrl+E), save/load (Ctrl+S / Ctrl+O) one-click access, application bar
?button to view complete instructions anytime - Export Popup (added in v1.2): Parameters such as format/resolution/color number annotation/bead shape collected in one popup; there will be only one download entry at a time — when the atomm platform is available, the export button rendered by the platform takes over (charges platform points per use); when the platform is unavailable (for example, caused by network problems leading to SDK load failure), the popup will automatically switch to our own fallback download button (not going through the platform, no charges incurred), the two mutually exclusive, will not coexist on the same screen. During export, the popup will always display “Exporting…N%” and an interruptible cancel button (v1.5)
- Project Archive: Save/load in open JSON format, all data kept in the user's control, not relying on any server
- Bilingual Interface (local language preference), aimed at the overseas bead enthusiast market
Usage Steps
- In the left column, Select an Image (supports JPG/PNG/WebP/BMP/SVG), or directly drag it into the upload area; if no materials are on hand, you can click one of the three sample images below the upload area to try immediately
- In the right column, adjust the width (number of grids), processing mode, color recognition algorithm, and merging threshold in the Pixelation Settings, then click Apply Changes. The height, millimeter size, and total number of beads calculated will be displayed below the width input, allowing you to know the final size without applying
- Select the Bead Brand (MARD / COCO / Perler) in the left column, then choose enabled color numbers in the Palette and Color Number Library either from presets or manually; use Color Number Statistics to check the procurement list, or use the Cleaning tool for color number simplification / fragment cleaning
- Use the tools below the canvas for Manual Adjustment: change color with the brush, erase to clear, pick color with the color picker, fill connected areas; can undo/redo at any time
- Switch to 3D to see the final effect, “Unfused” and “After Heat Fusion” two presets for comparing the real difference before and after the beads
- In the right column, click Export Pattern to open the export popup; select format (PNG/SVG), resolution, whether to annotate color numbers, and bead shape (square/round) in the popup; download entry taken over by the export button rendered by the atomm platform (charges platform points per use)
