Akkuratix Assembly Instructions

Cut the parts

First, cut out the sheet material parts. All parts are clearly marked in the provided file (for reference only and should not be lasered).

The engraved lines on the base layer should not be cut through, only etched/engraved. 

The circular holes, however, should go completely through the sheet and the acrylic material.

Prepare the base layer

Before gluing, lightly sand the folding groove on the base layer with sandpaper.
This ensures that paper sheets can be folded cleanly and precisely using a bone folder running in that sanded groove.

Glue the top layer on top of the base layer

Glue the two layers together so that the outer edges align perfectly and are flush.
Let the glue dry completely.

Now you are ready to use Akkuratix!

Insert pins at the desired positions in the acrylic sheet.

Position the stop blocks

The scale in the top laer is marked in 5 mm steps. Because of that, the stop blocks sometimes need to be placed face up and sometimes face down to achieve your desired distance when you're not working within the 5 mm grid. (do the maths;))

Insert the triangle

Insert the triangle into the designated holes.
It holds the acrylic sheet in place while you add a new stack of paper sheets.

Punch your quires

Place your quires against the stop block and guide the acrylic sheet with the pins downward.
Pierce the holes, then repeat with the remaining quires.
You’ll always get perfectly aligned holes at the correct positions.
