Information
Sometimes you don't care what the measurement is, you just want to find the middle point. I mainly use this to find the center of leather straps to punch buckle holes. Align the ruler so you see the same measurement on the left and right sides, and the zero indicates the mid point. The angle of the ruler across the item doesn't matter; as long as the measurement is the same on the left and the right, zero is in the middle.

Step1: Engraving and cutting
Engrave on the bottom surface of your ruler so that when you use it, the markings are closest to the item being measured.
Leave the protective paper on the acrylic during cutting and engraving. The paper acts as a mask and you can paint the bottom surface to make the engravings more distinct. Remove the protective paper when the paint is dry.
The settings are based on ¼" transparent acrylic which is what I used for durability. However 1/8" transparent acrylic would also work.
