Depth Map & Relief Generator
Open the main workspace for grayscale depth, STL relief, and full-color relief.
Build a shallow mesh with a defined base, then review it before entering the slicer.

Generate the surface, define its base, and inspect the mesh before export.
The STL export stores a dimensional surface rather than grayscale pixels. The generator converts the reference into shallow geometry attached to a base so the result can enter a mesh-based workflow. It remains a front-facing relief, not a complete reconstruction of the object behind the photographed view.

Turn on the backplate, select a square or circular shape, and set its thickness. The base supports the sculpted surface and helps the same motif become a tile, medallion, plaque, or prototype. Review the edge profile so the base and the relief read as one coherent model before export.

Use the 3D preview to examine contours, edge transitions, height direction, and the relationship between the relief and its base. This review can reveal a surface that is too flat, too steep, or inverted before the file reaches a slicer. It does not replace the slicer checks required for the intended manufacturing setup.

Download the generated relief as STL, then verify size, orientation, layer strategy, supports, and other production settings in the slicer or downstream tool. The export provides mesh geometry, but it does not guarantee that every design is watertight, manifold, or ready for a specific printer without review.

Use front-facing sculpted surfaces where the project needs a mesh rather than only a grayscale map.
Return to the main relief workspace, create a shallow bas relief, or prepare a height map.
Understand relief generation, mesh output, and the checks that belong in downstream making.
Define the surface and backplate, inspect the mesh, and export it for slicing.
