Toys that balance on a single point

A swan, an eagle, an owl — each rests on one tiny point at the top of its stand and simply stays there. Give it a nudge and it swings, then settles back by itself. Balancing Toy Maker does the physics for you: pick a design, add names, and cut the toy and its stand from one sheet.

43 ready-made designs that always balance

Animals, fun, nature and everyday objects — from kissing swans and a cat with yarn balls to an airplane, hot-air balloons and a mustache. Every design is mirror-symmetric and checked one by one: the centre of mass always sits right below the tip, so there is no balance point to hunt for and nothing to adjust.

Add names and make it a gift

  • Text on the weights: one line on each side, placed in the roomiest spot and sized to fit.
  • Base text: engrave a message in front of the post, like “Happy Birthday”.
  • Free engraving: add more text and icons anywhere, then drag, resize and rotate them.
  • Works with Latin, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Cyrillic, Thai and more.

Wobbly, steady or rock solid

Rock solid stretches the lower half down so the toy sits lower under the tip; wobbly lifts it for a livelier swing. Every setting still balances.

The stand is cut too

A pointed post and a base are cut from the same sheet as the toy; push the post's tab into the slot in the base and it stands. Choose a round, flower, heart or hexagon base — or skip the stand and balance the toy on your fingertip.

Ready to cut

The 3D preview swings with real pendulum physics — click the toy to push it. Export one SVG with true millimetre dimensions: outlines to cut, details and text to engrave, ready for xTool Studio.

How it works

  1. Pick a design on the left.
  2. Set the width and choose the steadiness.
  3. Type the text for the weights, pick a base shape and add a message.
  4. Export and cut the toy, the post and the base.
  5. Push the post into the base and rest the toy's notch on the point.

Materials

  • 3 mm plywood or acrylic both work — the balance depends only on the shape.
  • At the default 200 mm width every part is at least 3 mm wide; if you go smaller, the generator tells you the safe minimum.
  • If a cut toy leans a little, sand a touch off the heavier side.

Great as desk décor, birthday and holiday gifts, a hands-on science project with kids, or a personalised product for makers who sell.
