Step1

In this project, using the rotary tool is not mandatory.

Personally, I engraved my glasses without it.

The rotary tool you see in the video was only used to hold the glass in place.

The advantage of not using the rotary engraver in the P, S, or M machines is that you can start several engravings simultaneously if you manage to position your glass pieces side by side.

Note for projects using a diode laser: remember that your glass must be painted black before engraving. Personally, I use Jovi brand black tempera paint. It's the one that has given me the best results.

Now, position your glass (or install it in your rotary engraver).

Don't forget to level your glass.

Measure your object/focus (align the blue and red dots for F-type machines, take the measurement in P, S, or M-type machines).

You can now place your design, enter the settings (available in the file for CO2 or diode lasers), and start engraving.
