Christmas tree present Box and Deko

First make sure that you are following the safety instructions of your laser maschine.

Then check the settings to see if they match with the material you use.

I used a poplar plywood with 3mm. The file only works with 3 mm material.

I needed 3 pieces in A3 for this Box.

If you have checked all these things, let the laser do its work. 

Start the assembly with the parts on the picture. You see the parts for the left side and for the bottom. Glue them togehter and do it the same with the parts from the right side.

now it looks like this

place the top on the workpiece. This could be a little tricky. let all dry

Now glue the parts of the box together. I decided to make this box without additional notching at the corners or a railing for better grip. It works also when you secure the corners with a line of glue.

Now your both pieces should look like this. Make sure that the parts dry before you start the next step

glue the little rectangular part on the smalest side from the box, as you can see an the picture

place the box into the christmas tree, lay down the bigger rectangular, like the way you can see on the picture and mark the outlines from the box. 

glue the Box into the marked area, test if it fits well into the Christmas tree pull it out of the tree and let it dry well

the last part is only if you want to have the layer with the star cut outs on your box. 

I think with this layer the box looks more prettier and you can color the area underneeth the stars, so it has a more festiv or noble look. Also you can use a darker wood for this layer.
