Step1: Make a pencil jig

The first step is to make a jig in which to insert the pencils. You can using the ‘Jumbo-Colouring-Pencils-Jig.xcs’ file that's included in this project. The mold ensures that the pencils are always in the same place and prevents them from sliding while digging. For this project I used six pencils, because the text becomes dark in color during engraving. So I chose the light pencils for engraving. You can consistently expand the mold and engrave even more pencils at the same time. I used 3 mm plywood for this jig.

Step2: Prepare your engraving file

Place the pencils in the mold and secure them with a little tape if necessary. Open the file 'Jumbo-Colouring-Pencils-names.xcs' and adjust the names. Place the names in the right place for engraving.
