Next Stop: IFA Berlin 2026

For the xTool IFA Challenge, I didn't just want to create a single memento, but tell a little story: the trip to IFA in Berlin.

The result is a nostalgic Berlin platform with a historic tram, station clock, small signposts and a removable ticket. The wooden elements were cut with the xTool S1 and engraved in great detail. I designed the black metal ticket with the F1 Ultra.

On the front are the travel dates, "PLATFORM 26" as an allusion to the year of the event and a QR code to my Instagram profile. The back shows a map section of Berlin, the address of the trade fair and the coordinates of the destination.

From the first idea to the design of the individual motifs to the lasering and assembly, my little nostalgic path to IFA was created step by step:

Step1

Step 1 – Idea and design

My idea was to present the trip to IFA Berlin 2026 as a small nostalgic platform. For this I designed a historic tram with sidecar, a station clock, small signposts and a removable metal ticket. All motifs were then prepared for processing in xTool Studio and matched to each other.
Step 2 – Laser wood
Tram, clock, signs and base were cut and engraved from 3 mm thick birch plywood with the xTool S1. The fine details such as windows, wheels, wood paneling and the dial were engraved as bitmap or SVG engraving.
Step 3 – Engrave metal ticket
The removable ticket was engraved on a black-coated metal business card with the xTool F1 Ultra. The front contains the travel dates and a QR code to my Instagram profile. On the back there is a Berlin map section, the trade fair address and the coordinates.
Step 4 – Assembly
After lasering, all wooden parts were cleaned and the individual levels of the base were glued together. Then I used the tram, station clock and signs and added the card holder. This is how my little nostalgic platform for IFA Berlin 2026 was created step by step.
