Information

      Learning Explorer Board

A reusable educational platform designed to make learning accessible, creative, and engaging.

The Learning Explorer Board combines coloring activities with interactive educational cards, creating a simple learning experience without screens, batteries, or internet access.

Built from recycled cardboard but can be use with mdf, basswood and others materials, the board is designed to be affordable, easy to reproduce, and adaptable to different languages, cultures, and educational needs.

The modular card system allows makers, teachers, schools, parents, and community organizations to customize content for their own learners.

The demonstration version includes six educational themes:
• Alphabet
• Numbers
• Shapes
• Family
• Respect
• Environment

A removable coloring pad can be easily replaced, extending the life of the board and encouraging continued learning through new activities.

The Learning Explorer Board was created to show that meaningful educational tools do not need expensive technology.

Sometimes learning starts with cardboard, creativity, and curiosity.

Build Process

For this prototype, I used two machines to optimize production time.
The larger cardboard components were cut on the xTool S1, while the educational cards were engraved on the xTool F1.
This workflow allowed me to engrave cards while the S1 was cutting the board components, significantly reducing the overall production time. However, the Learning Explorer Board does not require multiple machines.

The entire project can be produced on a single machine, including:
• xTool S1
• xTool P2S
• xTool P3

The dual-machine workflow was simply used to speed up production and demonstrate an efficient maker workflow.
