Laser Engraved Black Stainless Steel Coffee Travel Mug with Espresso Quote

Information
☕ "Words Cannot Espresso How Much You Mean To Me"
Looking for the perfect blend of humor and sentiment? This laser-engraved tumbler is the ultimate gift for the coffee addict, barista, or espresso lover in your life. Whether it’s for Valentine’s Day, an anniversary, or just because, this mug says it all (with a little caffeine kick).
Instruction
Step1
Hardware Setup (The Rotary)
Install the Rotary Attachment:
Place the Rotary Module (your specific rotary) inside the machine.
Connect the Rotary Attachment to your machine
Leveling is key: Since tumblers are often tapered (wider at the top), use the small leveling jaw or prop up the back of the rotary so the face of the tumbler is perfectly parallel to the laser head. If it's tilted, the focus will be off at the edges.
Position the Tumbler:
Clamp the tumbler securely into the chuck (or place it on the rollers if you are using that mode).
Ensure the handle (if it has one) will not hit the laser head or the bottom plate as it rotates.
Step2
XCS Software Setup
Select Processing Mode:
Open xTool Studio.
On the right-side panel, change the Processing Mode from "Plane" to "Cylindrical Processing".
Select your specific rotary attachment (e.g., "Roller" or "Chuck").
Input Measurements:
Measure the diameter of the tumbler where you plan to engrave.
Input this Diameter (in mm) into the software. This is crucial so the software knows how much to rotate the cup to prevent the image from looking squashed or stretched.
Import & Place Design:
Import your "Words Cannot Espresso" image file.
Rotate the design 90 degrees if necessary (depending on how your tumbler is oriented in the machine).
Pro Tip: For a standard tumbler, the top of the design should usually point toward the mouth of the cup.
Step3
Focusing & Framing
Auto-Measure (Focus):
Move the laser module over the highest point of the tumbler (the center of the curve).
Use the S1's distance sensor (the probe) to measure the distance. In XCS, click the "Auto-measure" or focus button.
Framing:
Click "Framing" in the software.
Press the button on the machine to start the framing. The laser will project a rectangle outlining where the design will go.
Watch the tumbler rotate; ensure the design is centered and not hitting the rim or the bottom ridge.
Step4
Power & Speed Settings
Note: These settings can vary based on your specific S1 wattage (20W vs 40W) and the thickness of the powder coat. Always run a small test grid on a scrap cup if possible.
Recommended Starting Point (for 20W/40W Diode on Powder Coat):
Power: 100%
Speed: 70–100 mm/s (Too fast and it might not burn all the paint off; too slow and it might scorch the metal).
Lines Per Cm (LPC): 100–120 (High density is needed for a clean look).
Passes: 1
Step5
Post-Processing
The "Magic" Clean:
When the engraving is done, the design might look charred or dark. This is normal residue.
Take a Magic Eraser (melamine sponge) or a cloth with Isopropyl Alcohol (LA's Totally Awesome cleaner works great too).
Scrub the engraved area firmly. This will remove the burnt powder coat and reveal the shiny stainless steel underneath.
