NX-01 Captain Archers Enterprise

The instructions are the same for both big and small builds.

Start with centering and gluing on the small D shaped pieces to the front of the top round section.

Glue the cross pieces together.

Glue on the top piece and glue in the smaller cross piece as shown.

Glue if the egg shaped piece and the small disk on top. Try to align the graphics…

Here's the fun part is you chose the small version of this build. There are 6 small triangular pieces that glue the Nacelles to the mail body section.  If so, glue these on the back, and then when your ready to glue the engines on you will glue them on at an angle. I'll cover this later.

Glue the small oval disc to the front of the main body section as shown.  There are two oval blank pieces that I realized that go on the back of the ship. I omitted them…. 

The larger cross piece assembly goes on the bottom of the main saucer section.

I added 4 spacer pieces that I didn't get a picture of, but align these in an H pattern with the cross piece. align them with the inside cut out edge of the center section of the saucer section.

Glue in the small curved pieces as shown above in the picture try to align them with the top section.

Let everything dry really well before moving on.

This was another fun part.  

There are 8 attachment pieces on the small version. I made 16 of these for the large version 8 are spacers and 8 are scored.

Glue them together. There are 4 large ones and 4 smaller ones. the big ones are for the top and the smaller ones go on the bottom.

Glue one set on first either the top or bottom, doesn't matter which ones go on first.

They go in really tight on the big model.  I'll make them a bit lower in profile when I tweak the file again. ( I may make a mid sized version soon)

I did not get any good pictures putting the engines together… I will get some soon

The main part of the engine that attaches to the ship should have the engraving facing up.

B B B B Be careful with the small cross rings that go on the engines on the small model. They only go on 1 way. Anything else they will break easily. The ones on the big model, I just noticed, still has a gap on them when they are on the engine.

Gluing the engines on…. They go on at an angle. On the big version I notched the main bode and made some connector pieces.  Glue them on so the angle goes up and outward, when dry, add glue to the top of them and add the engine.  Be careful to get it aligned correctly so its straight with the body of the ship.

Now for the fun one.

On the smaller ship, remember the 6 little triangles? they glue in the same area as the ones I made.  I had to use tabs to be able to keep them attached to the sheet of wood.

I STILL LOST TWO of them darned things……

so when you glue them on the small tip of the triangle points inward.  Glue the engines on to them.

Be ready to hold them or glue them 1 at a time.

Finally there are 2 lobe shaped fin pieces that glue onto the center of the back of the ship. Big version has 2 each. The smaller ones go on the bottom.

Small version has 1 each.

The smaller version has an equally small stand. The big one has a bigger stand that I omitted a piece so it would fit on 2 12x12 in sheets of wood. 

There is a hole in the bottom of the ship that needs to move forward so it will balance better.

This was a frustratingly tricky build for me, being honest.  Even the larger size was a bit frustrating too.  I should have waited till the glue was finished drying between sections.

Also adding spacers in the larger one was an after thought.
