Information

I suggest you make a small box with a sliding lid with the xTool F1. This is the very first laser project done entirely by me and I am proud to share it with you.
I find the design very original with its soft lid that slides on a rail.

This small box can be used as a tooth box or a small original gift box.

This project will be feasible with any other xTool machine by adapting the parameters.

It will also be an opportunity to share with you a very useful site for this type of project, it allows you to make a svg project by entering the desired measurements.

To make this box, I went to the website: https://www.festi.info/boxes.py/ShutterBox?language=fr.

There are lots of possibilities. I entered the dimensions I wanted and this allowed me to get the SVG file to make my box.

I then imported it into XCS.

I haven't received the conveyor yet, so I had to separate it into 3 files. So there is the file to use with the conveyor and 3 files to carry out the project without.

Transfer the files to XCS and cut the elements. It may be necessary to adjust the settings to your machine.

Assembly:

  • To start, assemble the 4 parts that make up the inner part of the box. Also put the handle on the soft lid.
  • The slides are mounted using wood glue. Stick them as shown in the photos and let dry. I advise using  a fast-setting glue
  • Finally, insert the sliding lid into the slides. I put dry soap on it so that it slides off better.
  • Mount the last elements.

That's it, your sliding lid box is complete.
