Step 1) First thing for this hat rack is to created a very long and narrow rectangle, this is about 4" tall and near 24" long, as mentioned this project will require the extension kit to complete. Once the rectangle is sized up an ornate piece is brought in which was designed in another program, it is in a SVG file format so it can be engraved, scored or cut. In this project it will be cut. Before is is though it is positioned just over top the long rectangle as it will be brought together with the combine option using the unite button to make it all one piece.

Step 2) Now a circle or oval is needed for the middle to give it more thickness, the circle option from the insert feature is used however when placing it I shaped it to be an oval. It too will be unite with the combine feature so everything is all one piece.

Step 3) Once the part was united I changed the orientation to horizontal to able the ease of working on it, it will be changed back once it is complete and ready for the laser. Now some small holes are needed for a guide, these holes will be small and only scored for reference. The spacing is achieved by using the array feature with 1 column and spaced out across the lower section of the hanger. I selected 10 holes and spaced them by 2.5 in

Step 4) When you use the array feature to make multiple objects they are not grouped so to keep them lined up I grouped them before moving them to where I wanted them. As mentioned before these holes are only going to be marked for guide purposes, so they are set to score only.

Step 5) In this step a name was added, from selecting the text button the default Hello appears, this can be edited in the text box on the right side. I edited Hello to Hat then placed it after picking the font I wanted, I then copied and pasted the word hat and edited it to Rack this way the same font is used and roughly the same sizing. These 2 words will be engraved so I set them to just that.

Step 6) Now that everything was ready for the laser to do it's job it was set up in the D1 10w Pro and it was framed and set to go. once everything was finished, the settings achieved clean cuts and it was time to install the small hooks, then it was mounted on the wall to start hanging hats. Hope you fine you could try this project some time . Enjoy!
