I decided to test the capabilities for fine work of the F2 Ultra on a black coated Dog Tag. I came up with this design as it graduates sizes and therefore would indicate how fine I could get the detail.
As this was to test the machines capabilities with the basic settings of the software the set up is easy.
Step 1: Open X tool studio and select a new project.
Step 2: Import the image for the file.
Step 3: click on the image and select Edit from the top tab.
Step 4: Select AI background removal, At this point I personally choose to switch to manual and remove the background elements. (Note the image I created was background free, which sadly leaves checkers in the studio software, it appears unable to recognise an absent background.)
Step 5: once the image is cleaned, select it and set the height to 20mm, leaving the aspect ratio locked.
Step 6: Select the material as black coated military style pendant.
Step 7: Leave all settings given as given, except the dot duration, increase this to 400 as it gives in my opinion a better result. Though as machines vary may not on yours.
Step 8: Set focus and position of the engraving.
Step 9: Process and run the fils.
