“It’s Been an Honor” – Laser-Engraved Leather Patch (Book Inspired)
Information
This leather patch was scorched into being by heartbreak, forged for the romantics who would absolutely die for their squad, their dragon, and maybe a morally gray enemy-to-lover with devastating cheekbones.
Featuring a fierce dragon, crossed blades, and a scattering of feathers (you know why), the design is ringed by the phrase: “It’s Been an Honor”, a nod to that one scene that absolutely shattered you and still hasn’t let go.
Made for the emotionally feral book nerds who wanted a battle school experience and got soul-rending trauma with a side of magical war instead.
Instruction
Step1: Image Generation and Design Prep
I used AIMake and paired it with a traumatic quote, swords, feathers and dragons. (If you know, you know)
Prompt: Minimal engraved emblem for a leather patch. At the top, a bold dragon silhouette with wings spread, perched above two crossed daggers at the center. Torn ribbons and falling feathers drift through the air around the design. The phrase 'It's Been an Honor' engraved in an elegant serif font beneath the daggers.
Monochrome line engraving, crisp outlines, no gradients, balanced circular composition, high-contrast.
Step2: Processing
This was a different brand than the patch I'd previously used. The power would have ideally been a little lighter, the speed maybe a little faster but this can really vary by brand and patch color. Wipe it down with a quick check for dust or animal hair and set up the processing area before letting the laser free.
Step3: Finishing Touches
Use a damp cloth or paper towel to clear off any residue. Then you're free to iron your trauma on your favorite things.
