In sticking with my theme of creating projects that can be made using a single sheet of 12" X 12" (300mm X 300mm) 1/8" (3mm) plywood, I came up with this layered Halloween themed project that is designed to be back illuminated with a light string.
Place the material on the laser bed and run the job.
Once the laser is done, remove the pieces.
Paint panels 3-5. I initially was going to go with more of a silhouette look with everything painted black, but decided to add a few pops of color here and there.
To have more control of how the lights appear, I added a single sheet of tissue paper with a glue stick to panels 3-5.
Start with panel 1, the slit in it is for the wires of the lights to pass through before you attach the spacer (panel 2), attach your light string to panel 1, I used hot glue to keep the lights in place. (Check that the lights still work after you attach them to make sure they weren't damaged before completing the next step.) Then attached the spacer (panel 2) onto panel 1 with glue of your choice. (Please note, for the light string I used, I needed two spacers due to the large size and amount of lights. Standard button battery powered fairy lights should fit without issue with just one spacer.)
Add panel 3.
Add panel 4.
Add panel 5.
Finally attach panel 6.
Turn on the lights and enjoy!
