Step1: Designing

I designed this sign in Sketchup Make. I used a picture of coffee cups as a template (for tracing). The text and other symbols can also be customized as desired.
I then export the file as DXF so that I can edit / cut it in XTool Creative Space.

Step2: Adjustments and cutting

The design can now be customized in XTool Creative Space. For example, I have used the year 2022, but this can also be deleted and replaced with a different text/number. The symbols can also be moved. The entire sign takes up a large part of the M1's installation space, but can of course also be made smaller. The second file is then for the background. The sign can then be cut with the above settings.

Step3: Painting and Assembly

Once the two files have been cut, either the front parts or the background can now be painted to create a nice contrast. I painted the background with a dark brown spray paint. For gluing, you can now simply use the rest (i.e. what is actually left of the wood of the front parts) as a positioning aid to then glue the individual parts to the painted back.

Have fun with it!
