i tried to design my own sign around a bible verse someone liked and this came out! Perfect gift to hang at the wall!
First I looked for a suitable picture that could be used as a background. I then placed this on a layer together with the text that I wanted to engrave and not cut. This all works very well in Sketchup.
Afterwards, I designed the ornaments and the text that I wanted to cut so that it would be in the foreground. In the end, I exported an image of the background (or simply took a screenshot) and exported a DXF of the line drawing.
In the next step, I uploaded the files to XTool Creative Space and customized them. The image now had to be positioned correctly. The size can then be adjusted. Then I created the sign with the above settings.
Assembly is really easy. The two layers have to be glued together precisely. A small hole can be drilled into the base plate so that the whole thing can be hung on the wall, for example, so that the sign can be hung on a nail.
Other sizes are also easily possible! In the picture above you can see that I have tried two different sizes. In fact, the smaller sign is also slightly less stable. Therefore, if you have the space, you should make the sign slightly larger in the file! The XCS file shows the smaller version, which fits exactly twice in the working area of an M1.
Have fun making it!
