I've been experimenting with continuous line art recently. My brothers are really into coffee and the Kraken, so I wanted to create a piece they could use as wall art, a serving tray, or coasters, since the circular areas are the size of a coffee cup. To take it a step further, I also applied the design to a Yeti tumbler.

Board:
First, I placed the drawing onto the grid and used the trace feature to outline the Kraken (as it was an engrave-only image and I needed to make it a vector). Next, I used the outline feature as I wanted to ultimately cut out the Kraken. Then, I added circles to the tentacles using the elements tab and positioned the circles where I wanted them on the board. Finally, I added some text to complete the project.
Tumbler:
I placed the tumbler into the rotary tool and double-checked the measurements. Once the tumbler was securely in place, I displayed the image on the screen and previewed it before starting the engraving process. I usually use a Barbie pink tumbler, but I adjust the settings to engrave at 29 power and 120 speed, using 2 passes. I've found that these settings consistently produce beautiful engravings and scores when engraving a Yeti tumbler.
