Information

I created this engraved wooden sign because sometimes, you just know someone’s about to trigger a random encounter.

Inspired by my love for tabletop RPGs and the absolute vibe of being ready for combat at all times, this piece is both a warning and a welcome mat for fellow adventurers.

I made it to bring a little nerdy drama and humor to my space because who doesn’t want to threaten guests with initiative rolls?

Preview

Imported my layout with the phrase “Rolling for Initiative Because You Look Suspicious,” surrounded by scrollwork and a central D20 with crossed swords.

Grouped the text and decorative elements as a score operation to give it that engraved-but-not-too-burnt look.

Separated the D20 and swords into a different layer and set them as engrave, so they’d stand out with deeper texture.

Step2: Wood Prep And Laser Work

I used a ready-made sign, but if you're willing to cut a design around the engraving, pretty much any wood will work. No maskin,g but I did have air assist on high.
