To start use MDF to cut out the flower and the larger base

Now change the material for a veneered wood and cut the top of the base.
Remember that this is set for 4mm wood so change the small insert to the thickness of material you are using so that the flower slots in snuggly.

If desired, spray paint the bottom of the base and the flower. If doing thos allow to dry. Add colour to the flower if you want
