Mini wooden box

Cut out the pieces using the attached file by first, changing the indent size to fit your material, mine was 1/16 of an inch, so I change that size of the square sides so that it can make a dove tail like indent. NOTE: the pieces are not yet combined for a reason!  Then in XCS, use the join with the setting Subtract, so your pieces have an indent. You can also choose if you want to use a filled in square, outline, or something else to prevent to sliding. Just leave it, delete the smaller, or the larger, or change it entirely. If you are using hinges, cut it off entirely. The hinges replace it. Good job! You've finished the hardest and by far most confusing part. This Should be about half the process. NOTE: this file is already ready for cutting IF AND ONLY IF you have 5mm basswood. you can just combine and skip to step 4.

Don't cut out the bottom! That is for later. cut out the side and top pieces (The two squares) so you can make a bottom piece. Use the above settings with D1 pro without air assist and 10W laser

Look at the bottom of your box and where there is a hole, leave it, and where there isn't, cut it out like from before. Use the same cut power and you are ready for the final step!

Assemble the box as shown above and glue on the thing to keep the lid on. You can glue the sides of the box together, or not. If you want to, you can engrave the top and sides and make it really personal. Paint if desired and you now have a little box!
