The holidays are often a time when we gather and reflect on the people and/or pets who have been a significant part of our lives, and their absence can feel even more profound during these moments. That's why I wanted to create the Forever in Our Hearts ornament as a way to provide comfort and remembrance for that beloved pet or a dear friend this holiday season.

STEPS:

  • I started with a simple wing design and added the text Forever in Our Hearts using Abril Fatface font for a bold, clear look.
  • Then, I created an outline for the wings, which forms the base of the ornament.
  • To make the text stand out, I made a 5mm outline around it (no inner outline) and subtracted that from the wings, so it’s easy to read.
  • For the hanging part, I used two circles, subtracted the smaller one from the bigger one, and attached it to the base.

  • Engrave and cut the ornament in your laser machine. Using the material of your choice. It could also be a colorful basswood or acrylic.
  • After cutting, thread a piece of twine or festive ribbon through the hole, and you're all set!
