Information

We turned the breath of leaves into the heartbeat of light. We chose several tropical plants, kin to the rainforest's ancient roots, and traced their veins into the shape of a heart. Equipment: xTool M2
(This design is an original hand-drawn illustration. Please respect the copyright.)

Step 1 Laser Cutting

Using the xTool M2, engrave and cut the leaf-vein and heart pattern. What emerges, piece by piece, are tiny hearts of the plant world.

Step2

Step 2 Shaping the 3D Frame

Bend the rubber-coated aluminum wire into the form of a heart, then cut the linen to fit its curves.

Note: Because this step calls for three-dimensional draping — not flat cutting — we shaped it by hand. But the pattern is yours to reuse using xTool M2: cut it out and follow the same shape. (the heart pattern is in the pdf file, parameter advise: 100% power 25mm/s speed, for 20W)

Step 3 Weaving the Vessels

Weave green, brown, and gray threads into the vessels — rising, falling, woven across the frame like veins carrying life.

Step 4 Final

In the end, you can attach the leaves to the fabric heart however you like — Velcro, glue, magnets, all work fine.
