For the Halftone Maker Contest, I wanted to create something that captured the speed, energy, and passion of offshore powerboat racing while giving my friends' racing team a shirt they would be proud to wear on race day. This design is a tribute to the dedication, teamwork, and adrenaline that define the sport.
Using a photograph I took during the Key West offshore races, I transformed the image into a bold apparel graphic featuring dynamic halftone effects, checkered racing flags, dramatic water spray, and custom team branding. The result is a high-impact design that reflects the excitement of race day while creating a shirt that looks just as good at the dock, in the pits, or out on the water.

Instruction
Step1
Step1: Create Graphic in Halftone Maker or in Photoshop
Go to the Halftone Maker. Import Image. Choose black as knockout color. Change dot size and angle. Export image.
Photoshop- Create Graphic for Halftone
Change image DPI to 300
Go to layer panel and choose duplicate layer
Pick pulldown and select new. It will create a new file.
Go to image grayscale.
Go to levels and play with it until you think you have the contrast you like.
Go to image bitmap pick the method use halftone screen
Play with parameters
Once satisfied, copy image
go to original file and click on the image layer, click layer mask, paste the grayscale halftone into layer mask
click on original image
Enjoy halftone colored image.
I tweaked it a little after this file since the print was not as vibrant as I liked.
Step 2- Import image into xtool software
Step3- Print image to size of shirt
Step 4- Press Image on shirt
