Information

      Bar necklaces are a beautiful palette for providing simple messages that the recipient would find meaningful. The hardest part of the project is picking the words to engrave and the fonts to engrave them with. I used the recommended settings for the darkest engraving. Each side takes less than 1 minute to engrave. 

I created this one for my cousin's wife who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. This should hopefully remind her of what's important in life and to have strength while she goes through the treatments.

Instruction

Step1: Engrave using 2W IR

I placed a piece of basswood with a “T” shaped line marked on it in my S1 right where I wanted to place the necklace for each step of the engraving. I then placed the necklace against the mark on the wood to ensure that the bar was aligned exactly horizontally each time. I then marked the rectangular processing area.

I turned off the output for the 3 sides that I wasn't engraving and made sure that the words I was engraving were lined up within the processing area. After engraving finishes, swap out the next phrase and turn the bar to the next blank side. When finished, give the necklace a quick polish using a soft cloth to remove any debris that may be on the bar.
