The goal is to cut 5 pieces of leather and to drill holes for the stitching, for the press-studs (in 2 parts), the 6 rivets and the 2 eyelets, in bronze and to make an engraving to personalize the case.

It is possible that depending on the thickness and hardness of the leather, the laser cutting is not complete, at the risk of burning the leather, so it will be a partial cut and it will be necessary to finish the cut with a cutter for the shapes and with a punch for the holes for the accessories to be riveted. Open up the stitching holes with a small drill bit for steel or wood with a diameter of 1mm.

Sand the edge of the leather pieces with fine sandpaper to remove the black from the laser cut. Once the engraving is done and the leather pieces are cut and sanded, clean the leather well with a special oil such as SAPO, ox foot, because the burning of the leather with the laser generates black ashes that dirty the leather.

All cutouts and holes are obtained by laser cutting. Choose the diameter of the holes carefully according to the diameters of the sewing thread, rivets, press-studs (strong) and eyelets for the strap.

The sewing of the cut leather pieces is done with 2 needles (diameter 1mm) with a braided polyester thread coated with wax (diameter 0.7mm to 1mm). Take a length of sewing thread equal to 5 times the length of the seam to be made.

To assemble the rivets (3mm diameter hole), the press-studs (4mm diameter hole), the 2 eyelets (5mm diameter hole), special small tools are needed to crimp them on the leather. In general, it is enough to buy a cheap kit on the internet (punch + die).

To treat the edge of the leather and give it a smooth appearance, sand it with sandpaper and finish with grit n°400, then pass some "Gum of ADRAGANTE" and smooth with a cloth or a wooden burnisher. This technique is also described on YouTube. Here is a link

Remember to align the different leather parts with several needles, passing them through the holes for the sewing thread, before sewing.

1) Make the 6 decorative seams of a single thickness of leather (not assembly): n°1 to n°6 of the photo.

2) Crimp the 2 eyelets of 5 mm for the passage of the strap and the 2 parts of the press-studs fastener on the leather closure tab: (a) of the photo.

3) Make the 3 seams (in one go starting with one of the ends) of the 2 pieces of leather for the Visa cards, putting the smaller leather part on top, and taking the 3 layers of leather together: n°7 and n°8 in the photo.

4) Sew the bottom of the case, joining the 2 main parts: n°9 in the photo.

5) Crimp the 2 rivets of 3 mm: (b) of the photo.

6) Crimp the 1rst 3mm rivet at the bottom (near the bottom seam that has just been done) on one of the two sides of the case: (c) in the photo, then make the seam (n°11 in the photo) and finish by crimping the 2nd 3mm rivet: (f) in the photo.

7) Crimp the 3rd 3mm rivet at the bottom (near the bottom seam) on the other side of the case: (e) in the photo, then make the seam (n°12 in the photo) and finish by crimping the 4th 3mm rivet (d) in the photo. For this last seam, you don't need big hands!

Take a circular leather cord of 5mm diameter and 1,2 meters long, pass it through the 2 eyelets of 5mm.

To secure it, wrap the 2 ends with thread or crimp a rivet across.

7) Crimp the^3rd rivet of 3mm in the lower part (near the bottom seam) on the other side of the case : (e) of the photo, then make the sewing (n°12 of the photo) and finish by crimping the^4th rivet of 3 mm (d) of the photo. For this last seam, you don't need big hands !

 Take a circular leather cord 5mm in diameter and 1.2 meters long, pass it through the 2 eyelets of 5mm.

To lock it, wrap the 2 ends with sewing threads or crimp a rivet crosswise.
