Project Showcase: Laser-Cut Themed Coasters

I recently completed a series of custom 4-inch square coasters to tackle the eternal problem of water rings. This project allowed me to combine precise laser engineering with a vibrant multi-stage finishing process.

The Technical Process

Equipment: xTool D1 Pro (10W).

Design: Selected and downloaded 10 unique vector designs, scaled to 4-inch squares for a consistent, modern look.

Preparation: Post-cut, each piece was lightly sanded to ensure a smooth surface and thoroughly cleaned to remove all debris for optimal paint adhesion.

Finishing & Detail

To achieve a high-quality, durable finish, I used a multi-day coating technique:

Top Coat: Applied two layers of Bubblegum Pink Acrylic, allowing a 4-hour dry time between coats followed by an overnight cure.

Base Coat: Applied two layers of Flat Black Acrylic to the underside for a clean, professional contrast.

Curing: The coasters were sun-cured for 4 hours to ensure the paint bonded perfectly.

Protection: Finished with a clear sealer on both sides to provide a weather-resistant barrier against moisture and wear.

Result: A set of durable, eye-catching coasters that are as functional as they are stylish.
