Rosette Mirror Hanging Ornament

This design is set up for use on the F2 with the slide extension, allowing you to cut multiple items in one run, but it can also be used on a standard single baseplate machine. 

Simply place the design onto your machine bed. If you are cutting just one item, remove any duplicates and leave a single design in place. If you are using a slide extension or a larger machine, you can duplicate the design to cut multiple pieces at once or create variations with different text.

Once removed from the machine, lightly sand the surface and edges if needed to remove any burn marks or residue from cutting. 

You can also paint, stain, or seal the wood at this stage if desired. Make sure any finishes are fully dry before moving on. 

** if making scented do not seal it  - Sealing (with varnish, lacquer, or spray sealant) closes the pores of the wood. Since the scent works by soaking into those pores, a full seal will stop the wood from absorbing and releasing fragrance properly.

Partial Sealing (Best of Both Worlds)

If you want a nicer finish and scent:

• Lightly seal the front only (especially if it has engraving)
• Leave the back unsealed so it can absorb the oil

This helps keep the design looking clean, prevent oil marks on the front, still allow the scent to work effectively

Extra Tips

• Avoid thick coatings like resin or heavy varnish
• If painting, keep paint minimal or only on certain areas
• Always apply scent to the unfinished side

Place your finished piece on a protected surface and apply a few drops of your chosen essential or fragrance oil directly onto the wood, focusing on the back or edges to help avoid visible marks on the front. 

Allow the oil to slowly soak into the wood for several hours or overnight. For a stronger scent, build up in light layers rather than applying too much at once.

Avoid over-saturating, as excess oil may drip or stain surfaces. Once fully absorbed and dry to the touch, your hanger is ready to use. You can refresh the scent at any time by adding a few more drops. 

For longer-lasting results, store it in a small bag when not in use and choose stronger oils such as sandalwood, vanilla, or pine.
