Score: 3mm Basswood Plywood (blue)

🧩 Assembly Steps (Detailed Process)

Place the design on to your laser bed to the size of ply that you have placed inside your machine.  

Set Material to 3mm Basswood Plywood (or chosen plywood)

Click the layer colour in the bottom left corner you can make sure that all layers and processes are showing correctly

Select Red change your processing to “Cut” (if not auto set)

Select Blue change your processing to “Score” (if not auto set)

Turn output for everything that is fitting on your bed, frame & process.

Turn off output for everything before you move it off the bed, add the other elements and turn on output

Clean all edges with white vinegar to remove any residual char before painting / staining.

Leaf & Stem Painting 

I used the Tim Holtz Distressed Ink as I had it available and its very buildable.  I applied it to the basswood with a foam applicator and was applying my yellow POSCA marker and blending to get the tonal variations.

Pot and Top of pot (soil) I used a Cabots Stain pen in Golden Maple 

Once leaves are painted you can start gluing all the elements together I use Gorilla Wood Glue with a glue scraper I find this handy as it scrapes off the excess glue and ensures you don’t apply too much.  

I have made the joint in the leaves a square so you can choose which direction the leaves face I have position 2 of the side leaves to the front to make it look fuller.
