      I liked the last designs so much that I wanted to find something to put on jeans that actually fit. Ended up with a celestial mushroom dragon that felt like a natural fit for a lighter pair of thrifted denim jeans before I put the design on my favorite pair.

Instruction

Step1: Designing Phase

Used Gemini to generate a starting concept image of a mushroom dragon with celestial elements, then brought it into Illustrator for heavy rework, adjusting proportions, cleaning up lines, and making it feel more intentional and less AI-generic. Once the vector was where I wanted it, I imported it into xTool Studio, ready to burn.

Step2: Material Prep and Processing

Laid the jeans flat on the honeycomb and smoothed them out carefully; lighter denim shows unevenness more than dark. Measured and marked the work area, then let the laser do its thing.

Step3: Finishing Touches

Pulled the jeans off the machine and the engraving came out really clean~ lighter denim responds well and gives a nice contrast. Minimal cleanup, just a light brush to clear any residue.
