Cute Easter Bunny & Duck Acrylic Coaster | Laser Engraved Acrylic with xTool F2

Laser cutting and engraving acrylic can produce strong fumes and vapors.

Always follow these safety guidelines:

• Use the xTool F2 in a well-ventilated area
• Turn on exhaust or ventilation
• Avoid inhaling fumes during cutting or engraving
• Never leave the machine unattended while operating
• Wear protective glasses if required by your setup

Proper ventilation will keep your workspace safe and improve engraving quality.

Start by preparing your acrylic sheet.

• Open xTool Creative Space (XCS).
• Create a square design for your coaster (around 90–100 mm works well).
• Send the design to the F2 laser for cutting.

Once cutting is finished, remove the acrylic piece from the machine.

You now have the base for your coaster. You can use power 80% and speed 3mm

Laser-cut acrylic sometimes leaves slightly rough edges.

To give the coaster a polished finish:

• Use fine sandpaper (400–800 grit).
• Lightly sand the edges.
• Wipe the surface with a microfiber cloth.

This will remove roughness and give the coaster a more professional look.

For this project I used an image generated using ChatGPT.

The key things for acrylic engraving are:

• Use a black and white image
• Ensure strong contrast
• Avoid very tiny details

For this coaster I used a cute bunny and duck illustration which works perfectly for an Easter-themed project.

You can:

• use the same image
• generate your own design
• import a vector illustration

To give the coaster a more elegant look:

• Draw a thin border frame around the design.
• Leave a small margin from the edges.

This simple detail makes the coaster look more premium and decorative.

Place the acrylic coaster back into the machine.

In XCS, apply the engraving settings used in the project file.

For this project I used the 5W IR laser on the xTool F2 Portable.

Start the engraving process.

If the engraving appears too light or dull, you can:

• slightly increase the power
• run a second pass

Increasing the power will brighten the frosted engraving and make the artwork stand out more.

After engraving:

• Remove the coaster.
• Wipe the surface with a soft cloth.
• Remove any dust or residue.

Your acrylic coaster is now finished.

These tips will help improve your results:

Use High Contrast Images

Acrylic engraving works best with black and white artwork.

Avoid Overly Complex Details

Fine details can disappear during engraving.

Use Moderate Power

Too much power can melt acrylic instead of engraving it cleanly.

Keep the Acrylic Clean

Dust and fingerprints can affect engraving quality.

Acrylic engravings look amazing when sunlight shines through them.
