Sticker Paper & Adhesive Vinyl for xTool Machines

Sticker media is a cut material, not an engraved one. Every sheet is three layers — printed face, adhesive, and a silicone liner behind it. The whole job is to sever the top two and stop inside the liner, so the sheet still peels. Cut too deep and it falls apart; too shallow and it never comes off.

What a Sticker Sheet Is Made Of

Printable stock is paper or PET with an adhesive back, 0.1mm to 0.7mm thick. Solid-colour craft vinyl is far thinner, around 0.02mm, which is why it wants a slow, light pass.

Face material decides the finish: matte paper takes ink softly, PET holds holographic and glitter effects and survives water.

Packs run $4.99 to $20.99.

Print Then Cut, or Cut and Weed

Printable media goes under an inkjet head first, then the outline is cut around the printed art. Registration is the whole game: the machine has to find the print before it cuts.

Solid-colour vinyl skips printing. You cut the shape and weed away the rest, so fine interior detail is limited by what tweezers can lift.

Four Kinds of Sticker Media

Face material decides the look, the liner decides how it cuts.

Matte white inkjet self-adhesive paper with a printed floral pattern

Printable sticker paper

Matte or glossy paper with an adhesive back. Cheapest per sheet, takes ink cleanly, and cuts easily on a blade or a diode. Not waterproof unless you laminate it.

Holographic and bubble-pattern inkjet sticker paper sheets

Holographic and specialty PET

A PET face over an effect layer — holographic, star, bubble, vellum. Tougher and water-resistant. These sheets are PVC-free, which is what makes them safe to laser.

Name stickers cut from matte white self-adhesive vinyl

Solid-colour self-adhesive vinyl

No printing involved: you cut the colour you bought. Around 0.02mm, so a light touch. A maker cut matte white at 13 mm/s and 35% on a 20W diode.

Gold and silver foil transfer paper sheets

Lenticular and foil

The specialty end — lenticular cards and stickers that shift with the angle, and foil that a transfer tip lays down as a line rather than a cut.

Three Ways to Cut It

The M2 carries the most sticker jobs, with its printer module and its diode. The M1 Ultra adds the fine-point blade.

A speed and power cut test grid run on sticker paper on an xTool M2

Diode laser

Fast, no consumable to replace, and it seals paper edges slightly. Only for PVC-free media — a test grid like this one is the quickest way to find the kiss-cut depth.

Fine-point blade

No heat at all, so any vinyl is fair game including PVC. Pressure replaces power: a maker cut gold adhesive vinyl at 100 mm/s with blade force 80.

Ultraviolet laser

The coldest option, for films that melt or discolour under a diode. Reflective tape took 15 light passes at 65 mm/s and 37% rather than one hot one.

Four Things That Decide a Sticker Job

Never laser PVC vinyl

PVC releases hydrogen chloride when it burns, which is bad for your lungs and worse for the machine. Cut it with a blade, or buy PVC-free PET media made for lasers.

The liner is the target, not the backing board

A kiss cut stops inside the liner. That is a fraction of a millimetre, so power and pressure matter far more here than on any thick material.

Registration beats resolution

On print-then-cut work the print is never exactly where the file says. If the cut lands off the line, the fix is the alignment step, not a finer setting.

Weeding sets the limit on detail

Anything you cannot lift out with tweezers will not survive the weed. On solid-colour vinyl that rules out hairline gaps long before the machine runs out of precision.

Can you laser cut sticker paper?

Yes, if it is paper or PVC-free PET. A 10W diode cut printed sticker paper at 20 mm/s and 75% power in one pass. What you must not laser is PVC-based vinyl, which releases hydrogen chloride as it burns.
