Layered Fancy Heart for Valentines Day.
I made this piece for my wife for Valentines Day.
I found it a little generic and changed this file to add names and anniversary date. which is the purple version.
Unfortunately, for this piece, i didn't take any step process pics.
The Standard p2 basswood settings are applied for this project but i always use 100 power, 5 speed and usually I don't get any annoying uncut spots. Use whatever settings that work for you.
Also make sure you measure the depth based on your setup before cutting.
Option 1
1. Cut out the two pieces
2. Paint the Whole Heart shape
3. Paint the Cutout Heart shaped piece
4. Glue the heart shaped pieces together
These steps will work fine and make a nice piece
… or you can do what I've started doing lately and use all the pieces
Option 2
1. Cut out the two pieces
2. Gather all the cutout pieces you can (it's hard to get them all so don't worry too much about the smaller pieces)
3. Glue the heart shaped pieces together
4. Place the other cutout pieces in the cutout heart
5. Paint the whole thing how you like
6. Mostly dry while trying not to let the pieces get stuck
7. Remove the cutout pieces and repaint the glued together portion.
8. Dry
9. Glue the other pieces back in place and seal
