When aligning the t-shirt under the laser, it's important that they lie as flat as possible and don't have any wrinkles. It's a good idea to stuff something solid into the t-shirt to help with this.

Once the t-shirt is lying flat, you can measure the distance using the autofocus. If you can't completely close the lid, please don't forget your safety goggles.

However, this can vary depending on the fabric. I would therefore advise you to do one pass first and then, if necessary, a second. Just make sure the  t-shirt i not moved, otherwise the design won't be aligned correctly.
