To design this box, you just have to follow the following steps:

  • Insert an image of a tooth in svg and make two more copies (3 images in total).
  • Leave one for the base, in which we will then place the text we want to engrave. We select it to cut.
  • In another of the copies we are going to insert 20 squares of 10 mm (for the 20 teeth), we are going to place them inside the figure so that we like how it looks. We inserted a heart in the middle and then engraved inside it the date on which they lost their first tooth. We select all the shapes and group them together. We select it to cut. We make a copy.
  • We take another of the initial copies and we are going to generate its outline in -4. We make a copy. Then we select both forms and click on combine and subtract.
  • We take the copy we just made and from the inner line we are going to generate its outline at -4. We removed the outer line. Select both forms and click on combine and subtract. Select to cut.
  • Take the last copy of the tooth and this will be the lid of the box. We are going to insert the text and drawings that we want to engrave.
  • We place one of the parts that contains the holes of the teeth and place it on the base. We insert text and we are going to put the numbers from 1 to 20 in each hole in order to place each tooth in its place in order of fall. We insert text and in the hollow of the heart we are going to write the date on which the first baby tooth was lost. Select the text to record. We reposition the part of the holes in its place.
  • We have to have 5 layers in total: the base, two with the holes and the heart, the contour, the lid. We have an extra one of another outline that will be placed on the back of the lid so it will be part of the fourth layer of the box.

We turn on the Xtool, place the 3 mm thick MDF board, adjust the height of the laser, check the parameters and hit start.

Let the machine engrave and cut all the parts.

Once we have all the parts of the box we are going to proceed to assemble it by gluing each of the parts with glue.

We will start by gluing the two parts of the holes, one on top of the other, making both parts coincide perfectly.

We put glue on the back and we will glue it on the base, matching the contour lines. We will also make sure that the numbers are on the inside of each hole and the text is well centered inside the heart.

We place both outlines together but we are going to put glue only on the inner outline, the smallest. We're going to place the lid on them, matching the edges of the lid with those of the larger outline. We let the small outline stick well to the back of the lid. When it has been glued, remove the outer contour.

Put glue on the back of the outline and place it on top of the three layers that we already have joined, making both parts coincide.

When it is dry, we are going to check that both parts fit. We will open and close the box several times so that those laces are given a little and it can be opened without costing work.

We already have the box of teeth ready. I am sure that it will be a beautiful memory that, when the niñ@s are older, they will enjoy watching and will be grateful to have it.
