      As a lifelong car enthusiast, I wanted to create something that captures more than just the look of a vehicle! I wanted to showcase the engineering, design, and personality behind it. This Audi R8 blueprint plaque was designed for fellow enthusiasts who appreciate the details that make iconic cars special. Using black cast acrylic, the IR laser was used to produce sharp blueprint-style engraving while the blue light laser handled the precision cutting for a clean professional finish. The combination of technical OEM-inspired layouts and modern laser engraving creates a display piece that blends automotive passion with craftsmanship. Designed and produced by PRINT3DSTUFF.

Step1

I started with the idea of creating something that combined my passion for cars with the precision and creativity of laser engraving. As a car enthusiast myself, I’ve always appreciated the engineering and design details that most people overlook, so I wanted to turn those details into a clean display piece that other enthusiasts would appreciate too.

The process started by gathering accurate OEM dimensions and reference material for the Audi R8 to create a true blueprint-style layout. Once the design was finalized digitally, I prepared the artwork specifically for dual-laser processing on the F1 OG Dual Laser system. Black cast acrylic was chosen because it produces sharp contrast and a premium finish when engraved.

For production, I used the IR laser to engrave the fine blueprint details and vehicle specifications into the acrylic, creating the bright frosted white effect against the black surface. After engraving was complete, the blue light laser was used to precisely cut the plaque to its final dimensions for a clean edge finish. Once removed from the machine, the piece was cleaned, inspected, and prepared as a finished display item.

The goal throughout the project was to create something that feels technical, modern, and collectible a piece made by an enthusiast for enthusiasts.
