This is an invitation for you to be one of the Tips & Tricks creators here in the xTool community!
Ever see Captain Laser blabbering about Tips & Tricks? I hope you do because that took months of our efforts. 🤣 (I would take it for granted that you know what a tip does!!
It's such a rewarding experience to have shared the content and received all your feedback (some of which brutal😥). Super thankful to them all!
Meanwhile, I've seen so many of you help newcomers solve their problems. I guess that's how many of you grow your expertise at first. We're constantly surprised by how passionate you are about laser crafts and how supportive and friendly you are when someone reaches out for help.
We would love to preserve this tradition in the xTool community, and we wish to let your laser and craft knowledge/insights shine and be seen by more of us!

Actually, you taught us the yearning part, and our goal is to build a laser community where everyone can reach out for help and, in turn, give others a helping hand when capable.

Are there any rules about the topic of Tip Hunting?
Our xTool users vary from absolute beginners and hobbyists to laser experts. Some of them chose xTool as a side hustle, some to start a business with, and some for fun.
One thing all would admit is that there is a learning curve (not a very steep one) with laser. That is very true, and we see it as a continuous process.
That's why we want to invite xToolers of all levels to share their Tips&Tricks while learning.
Let's start with where everyone has been: "What you need to know before processing?"
Here are some topics I think would be interesting:
- LightBurn + xTool tips (connection, alignment, introduction to various small functions, e.g. what is constant power mode, what is crosshatch, ...)
- Tips on how to use Inkscape + XCS (e.g. what is the Bezier tool, ...)
- Tips about using ImagR
- How to design and process under Laser extension kit mode?
- IR tips (focusing, replacing the laser head, what materials work best, ...
- How to better align the engraving position using the Rotary Attachments
- Design, machine connection, focusing, thickness measuring, anything you think is going to help
Instructions/Information
- To share your tip, click "Share My Making" and then "Tips & Tricks," which will take you to the edit page. Then, give it a title, write your tip, and publish it.
- There are no winners or losers. The goal of the activity is to inspire, encourage you to share your work, and to build a supportive community.
- You're welcome to discuss and offer feedback/constructive criticism to other people's tips, but, as always, please be respectful♥

What makes a good xTool tip?
My definition would be one that is
- Useful for lasering
- Detailed
- Clear and Easy to read
