Cut Ornament Generator

Pick one of 30 ornament outlines, then fill it however you like — tap in any of 160+ cut-ready elements, set a line of text in the font you want, or describe a shape and let AI draw it. Everything fuses into one single-layer silhouette with the hanging hole already in place, previews in real wood or acrylic, and exports as a clean SVG for your laser.

How to Make Your Own Cut Ornament

Pick a frame, fill it, cut it. Three passes, no vector software.

01

Pick an outline

Thirty frames to start from: eggs, bunny heads and ears, baskets, crosses, a classic round bauble, heart, paw, bell, cat, star, hexagon, reindeer. Every one arrives with its hanging loop already cut in, and you set the width and height in millimetres or inches — so you never draw the hole or guess the size yourself.

02

Fill it in

Tap elements from sixteen categories to drop them inside the frame, then drag, scale, and rotate them into place. Add a line of text in one of twelve display fonts and double-click on the canvas to edit the wording. Need something the library doesn't have? Describe it and AI draws it as a cut-ready silhouette. Flip Overflow on to let a wing or a leaf break past the frame, or leave it off to keep everything trimmed flush inside.

03

Preview and cut

3D Preview renders the piece in the wood or acrylic you actually picked, grain, thickness and all. Export strips it back to the pure red cut line the laser will follow, so you can check every element is joined before you spend a board. Download the SVG for any laser software, or send it straight into xTool Studio.

A Frame and a Fill, Not a Fixed Template

Most ornament makers hand you finished designs and let you swap a name. Here the frame and its contents are two separate decisions: any of thirty outlines, any of the elements, placed wherever you drag them. The same bunny frame becomes a spring keepsake, a baby announcement, or a shop-ready charm depending only on what you put inside it — which is why one tool covers Easter, Christmas, and everything between instead of needing a template per holiday.

160+ Elements, Sorted by What You're Making

Butterflies, candles, eggs, rabbits, crosses, flowers, leaves, snowflakes, stockings, gifts, Christmas trees, reindeer, Christmas hats, bells — sixteen categories, every one of them already a clean closed silhouette that cuts properly. No hunting through a generic clipart search, no tracing a PNG, no discovering halfway through a job that the shape you picked has hairline details a laser can't hold.

Describe It, and AI Draws It Cut-Ready

When the library doesn't have it, type what you want and the AI panel draws it — as a clean silhouette built for cutting, not a shaded illustration you would have to trace afterwards. It drops into the canvas like any other element and stays in your History for reuse. Not sure how to phrase it? Tap a suggestion chip and it writes a full description for you, then shuffle for another set.

See the Exact Cut Line Before You Cut

A single-layer ornament only works if every piece is joined — anything floating free of the frame drops out of the sheet as scrap. So the tool gives you both views: 3D Preview shows the finished piece in the real material, grain and thickness included, and Export strips everything back to the bare red path the laser will follow. One glance tells you whether that letter, that leaf, that wingtip is actually attached, while fixing it still costs nothing.

Cut Through or Engrave — Set It Per Element

Every element you drop in carries its own Process setting. Leave it on Cut and the shape is cut clean through, the way the frame is. Switch it to Engrave and it stops being a hole — the motif is burned into the surface instead, and a cut contour is generated around it automatically, so the piece still leaves the sheet in one solid piece. Outline offset decides how far that contour sits from the artwork in millimetres: tighten it for a close-fitting badge, open it up and the outline relaxes into a rounded pad. Switch on that element's Overflow and the whole thing — engraved motif and generated contour together — pushes past the frame and becomes a lobe on the ornament's own silhouette. Mixing cut and engraved elements in one design is what turns a flat outline into a piece with a surface.

Ornaments Worth Cutting

One flat sheet, a hanging hole, and whatever the occasion calls for.

An Easter Table That Isn't Plastic

Egg frames, bunny ears, woven baskets and tulip elements are all here, so a set of wooden egg charms for the branch vase or a name tag on every place setting takes an afternoon, not a shopping trip. Cut a dozen from one sheet and they cost less than the bag of plastic ones.

Tree Decorations That Come Back Every Year

Snowflakes, stockings, reindeer, bells and Christmas trees fill the round bauble and star frames straight away. Add the year and a name in a script font and the ornament stops being decoration and starts being the one everyone looks for when the box comes down from the loft.

Tags, Favours and Small Gifts

The hanging hole is in every outline, so the same design works as a gift tag, a pet tag, a keyring charm, or a wedding favour on a napkin. Swap only the text and cut the batch — a table of forty guests is forty pieces off the same sheet, each with its own name.

Market Stock You Can Restock in Minutes

Seasonal ornaments sell in runs, and runs need variations. Because the frame and the fill are separate, one afternoon of designing yields a whole stall's worth: same outline in three woods, same elements rearranged, personalised names cut to order while the customer waits.

FAQs about Cut Ornament Design

What is the Cut Ornament Generator?

It is a browser tool for designing single-layer ornaments that a laser cuts out of one flat sheet. You pick an outline, fill it with elements, text, or an AI-drawn shape, and everything fuses into one connected silhouette with the hanging hole already in it. What you export is a cut file, not a picture.
