      This layered acrylic keychain is a beautiful and personal Mother's Day gift.
Choose your favorite lettering – MOM, MUM or MAMA – and personalize it with engraved heart charms featuring the names of your loved ones.

The base is made from frosted black acrylic, while the raised letters are cut from red mirror acrylic and fitted into deep-engraved recesses for a clean and elegant 3D look.
Each name heart is attached with a metal ring – perfect for keychains, bags, or decorative use.

Step1: Let´s go

Preview

Download the file and open it in xTool Creative Space (XCS).
The included settings are for the xTool P2S.

Step2: Place material and adjust

Preview

Place the first material – black frosted acrylic – into your laser and adjust the settings accordingly.
Start by cutting and engraving the base plate, including the deep pockets for the letters.
Then switch to red mirror acrylic to cut the raised letters and name hearts.
If you're using different material, you may need to adjust the size of the letters for a clean and tight fit into the engraved recesses.

Then start the cutting and engraving process – one material at a time.

First, place the black, frosted acrylic in the laser and adjust the settings accordingly.
Start with the cutting and deep engraving of the baseplate, especially the recesses for the letters.
Then switch to red mirror acrylic to cut the raised letters and name hearts.
If you're using other materials, you may want to use adjust the size of the letters so that they fit precisely and cleanly into the recesses.

Step3: Clean the engraved

After engraving and cutting, clean the engraved recesses thoroughly using a soft brush and mild soap.
This removes dust, soot and residue, ensuring that the glue will bond well later and the finish looks clean and professional.

Step4: Insert the Letters – With Care

Use a solvent-free adhesive to avoid damaging the mirror coating on the back of the letters.
Apply a small amount of glue directly into the engraved inlay – a toothpick is ideal for precise application.
Then gently press the letters into place and let everything dry thoroughly.
Only remove the protective film after the glue has completely dried to prevent shifting or smudging.

Use a solvent-free glue to avoid damaging the mirror layer on the back of the letters.
Apply the glue sparingly directly into the engraved recess - preferably with a toothpick for precise work.
Then carefully insert the letters and let them dry well.
Do not remove the protective film until it has completely dried to avoid slipping or smudging.

Step5: Complete Your Keychain

Use two small pliers to attach the key ring with chain to both the main pendant and the heart tag.
