I made this beautiful design as a gift for Mother's Day. The letters LOVE MOM in English but the text engraved in Spanish, with space for four photos of approximately 8x8. Also available in all English version.

To make the design, the first thing was to add the letters M-O-M separately to be able to join them at the ends and select combine - join. That way, when you cut, they'll be together.
To add the boxes above, I used the "cute notes" font that appears as post-it notes.
I wrote the letters L-O-V-E and then inserted a circle in each of them surrounding each letter. I selected the whole square and then I hit combine - subtract and the letters disappeared leaving only the squares (you can see the steps in the images).
Once we have the empty squares, I placed each one in the position and place I liked. Select everything and click on combine - join, in this way everything is joined and so we can cut everything together without having the pieces separated.
Finally we have to add the text that we want to engrave in the letters MOM. To do this, I wrote a phrase that I repeated several times. I placed it in such a way that the letters were completely covered. Here you have to leave it like that because if we hit combine - join, it makes the effect we want but if we then hit record, the letters of MOM are engraved and the text is not appreciated so the best option I found was to leave it like that.

Once the design is finished, it's time to put the Xtool to work.
It will record the text first and then cut each of the parts.

We painted the letters of LOVE, I painted them in white but everyone should use their creativity. It can also be left in wood but they are more beautiful painted as they are better appreciated.
While the letters dry, we choose the photos, print them in 8x8 size and cut them in such a way that they fit well behind each painting. I used double-sided scrapbooking tape to fix them to the wood.
Once the letters are dry, we stick them in the places that we think best.
The painting is ready to give as a gift.
A beautiful memory that they will surely love.
