This file contains two heart shaped necklace designs that are fast to make and are excellent gifts for loved ones. I made these designs using only the xTool creative space software.
The first things you will need to purchase for this project are chain, jump rings and lobster clips. All of these can be found on Amazon, eBay or in local craft stores.
I purchased 10 meters of 2.4mm thick stainless steel chain on Amazon and I already had silver jump rings and lobster clips from other projects.
You will also need to choose a materiel for the pendent. I used 3mm caramel coloured bamboo but you could also use any other wood or acrylic for this project.
To make these designs I started with the standard heart shape in XCS and used the edit node feature to slightly change the shape and make something unique.
Once you're happy with your heart shape, use copy and paste to make a duplicate then adjust the size to fit inside the first heart.
I would recommend trying to keep at least a 4 mm gap between the two shapes all of the way around. This will allow space for the hole to attach the chain and keep the finished pendent strong.
If the necklace is going to be a gift, it might be a nice idea to engrave some text with a names or date of a special occasion.
I used a nice font called Dancing Script and used the curve text feature to match the curve of the heart outline.
These necklaces are really fast to cut and should only take a few minutes depending on the power of your laser.
The settings above are what I used to cut 3mm bamboo on my 5w xTool D1 Pro.
Now all that is left to do is cut your chain to length, I usually make them around 20 inches, and add the lobster clasp.
Then just use a jump ring to attach the chain to the pendent and your necklace is complete.
