Two piece engraved gift box

This small gift box is perfect for jewellery and can make a nice gift when personalised with a gift message.
This file contains personalisation on the sides and top of the box as an example but this can easily be changed to something more personal to you.
There are lots of shapes and patterns built in to XCS that are great for decorative engraving and the text function can be used to add a gift message as shown in my example images.
I any 4mm thick materiel can be used to make this design and the settings listed here are what I used to cut 4mm MDF using a 5w D1 laser.
Once all the parts are cut and engraved it's time for assembly.
Start by joining together the 4 short inner sides together onto a square, then secure the sides into the bottom base plate.
Next slot together the remaining 4 sides and top, these should be the parts with the engraving if you have personalised your box.
All parts should hold together without needing any kind of glue but I added a small amount of adhesive to the joints during assembly to make sure all parts were firmly joined together.
